As a part of the Leaders in Innovation Conference, we spent the day at FabLab Warsaw to continue exploring what is needed in educational design and have a bit of fun with some of the FabLab Tools.

We were able to dive in and start creating in their various rooms. Their layout included a woodworking space equipped with laser printer, Dremels, and a lot of your good old fashion wood shop tools. They also have a silk screen space, 3D printing, soft materials fabrication area, project rooms, presentation and workshop areas. The detail included in the organization of resources as well as the visual guides to help ensure understanding of the possibilities for various tools was an asset to people being able to jump into learning.

We had the opportunity to build wooden mallets that were branded by a laser printer. We were able to silk screen a tool bag with the conference logo. The best making of the day was the thought inspiring conversations between the educators at the conference. It was great to hear how the various schools across the IB Design curriculum were bringing many of these learning opportunities to life in their schools!
