Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge 

Mishra and Koehler’s TPACK concept builds on the original ideas of Shulman by adding Technological Knowledge to Pedagogical Content Knowledge.  This framework highlights the balance of knowledge a teacher should have to develop the best learning experience for students in their given context.  The Venn diagram pictured below represents the important effects one knowledge set can have on the other.  The overall goal is that an educator’s knowledge hits the sweet spot in the middle where TPACK comes together.
